FG TO RELEASE ADAPTATION POLICY

ABUJA: CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION POLICY, Minister of Environment Mr. John Odey has said the federal Government would release its National adaptation strategy against climate change phenomenon.
The policy which would guide the nation on its adaptation programme to help the people cope with the challenge would place Nigeria ahead of other African countries who are still faced with the challenge in the area of developing a national strategy.
The minister said this during a courtesy call by the Charge de Affairs of the United State Embassy Mr. Dundas McCallough to his office.
Odey who said the strategy was developed between the ministry of environment and Nationa Air Space Management Agency, NAMA, sought further cooperation from the United States government to extend its eco toruist and forestry projects to Bauchi state.
Fielding questions from journalist on other areas of cooperation and assistance between both countries McCollough said The US was open to any cooperation of mutual benefits.
